About three months ago, we hired our new Executive Assistant, Desiree Jacinto, to facilitate operations at Butler. Now that she’s been here a minute (and gotten to know how we work), we thought it’d be neat to ask Desiree to tell you, in her own words, what the start of her stint at Butler Branding has been like:
As the newest employee of Butler Branding, I have to say it has been AMAZING thus far. Coming in, I expected my job to be just as described. In short, I expected it to be fast-paced and require me to be HIGHLY organized. I expected things to be a little more rigid for some reason (probably because I was a nervous wreck), but I knew I would be working in an industry I love (marketing). And I knew, from my second interview, that the team would be great (they are just so … you know). I also expected my job to be fun, and to be something I would enjoy coming to each day.
I have to say, the job has exceeded my expectations so far (especially the fun part)! I love coming into work, and I love scheduling out our team and reaching out to our amazing clients. So far, my favorite moments have all been seeing the tasks I scheduled go through to completion, and seeing our clients’ reactions when they are satisfied with the work I helped make possible. It’s so rewarding to be the liaison between my team and our clients (especially when we’re all working together on tasks that need to get done FAST).
But what I really love about Butler is our work environment. My team (Editor’s Note: I am so happy that Desiree already feels this is “her” team, because it sure as heck is.) is not only fun and friendly, but they also own their work and are passionate about what they do. They make it easy for me to keep track of tasks, because they always take responsibility and make sure their part of each project is on track for completion. I also love our casual “dress code” (because I love shopping for new clothes), the Super Nintendo we have hooked up in our production room (which we only play when time allows, I promise), and that I can get work done whenever and wherever I want to. Busy Mondays get a lot easier when you can put some time in on Sunday if you need to.
I am still in awe of the idea that I am reaching my third month at Butler. Mostly because there is so much to look forward to! Since I’m the one creating our timelines and keeping track of our monthly reviews, time really does fly while I’m having fun. So many days, I come into the office and, before I know it, it’s noon. I love that I get to say, “Oh wow, it’s noon already?!” instead of, “Oh no, it’s barely noon.” I can’t wait to perfect my skills and know exactly how each Butler project should and will go from start to finish. Right now, I’m still playing catch-up (and if I haven’t met you yet, hi, I’m Desiree!), but I’m on track to start reviewing whether Butler’s meeting its larger goals. I can’t wait to continue my time as a Butler Branding team member, and I’m looking forward to the future!
